October 2002
A dream we had over two years ago has become reality this month, with the birth of Arcadia Overture's Alegria (Ally). A textbook delivery at the very reasonable hour of 11.30pm with both mother, Kinetic Kissed By a Rose, and baby doing well. She is our first foal from Overture and everything we hoped for when we chose him to be our future herd sire. Ally already displays that same body type we admire in her sire, has long legs, a cute little dished head and above all she loves people. Always on the lookout for ways to escape her mother’s protective gaze, she will sneak away while mother is eating and practically climb into your lap. She is already trying to boss her mother around - no easy task, as Rosie is a fairly assertive character too.
Scott Creek Cameo and her filly Bluegables Toy Tiara will be joining us very soon, with Cameo now confirmed in foal to Tiny Trotters Wizard. We are looking forward to having one of the first foals from this lovely young stallion next year.
We have begun our own breeding for the season with Bluegables Rowdy's Jade Remark, and Holly of Kelcoron and Rosie also due to be bred to Overture over the next couple of months. Lots to look forward to for next year’s foal drop.
Show season has begun with an initial team of three (Arcadia First Lady, Bluegables Little Miss Daisy and Bluegables Monarchs Overture) going out to a few shows as we start to prepare for the bigger shows from December onwards.
