Well the show season finished on a high for us.  We had been waiting in anticipation of taking our new foals out and also of bringing Madonna back into the show string as we felt we had a very strong show team in her and her full brother, Thunder.

These two could not have represented us and their Sire and Dam much better than they did. After multiple offers of new homes in both the North and South Islands for these two we are  extremely proud to have this pair of horses in our show string, carrying our stud name and residing at our stud.

Overall we have had an extremely successful show season and wish to thank all those who helped with holding horses etc.  Thanks also to those that have commented on our horses - its nice to hear other people think your horses are as good as you do.

The trip south to the NZMHA National Show in Christchurch was eventful with us being turned away at the ferry terminal on the way home due to the roughness of the sea.  The horses, our tow vehicle, all our gear and the float therefore got an extended holiday in Christchurch as due to work commitments we had to fly home.  Thanks to Colleen and Bruce Sands at Brogan Lane for looking after our horses until we could get back to pick them up.

Reflection has settled in well and has really matured in his time with us.  Over the last month he has really coloured up.  We are very happy with his type and with the first mare confirmed in foal, and more to test, we are eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first progeny.

April was a tough month with two friends leaving us.  Our Akita, Quin, passed away after reaching the prime old age of thirteen.  He was a very special member of our family and we all miss him.  The first filly we ever bred, Arcadia First Lady or Jackie moved on to a new home and we welcome Amanda Bethune to the Arcadia family.  We look forward to seeing her and Jackie out and about next show season.
